Twitter Migration Report
I appreciate how many people are ignoring the X rebrand entirely and referring to it as Twitter. I doubt that’ll ever go away fully.
It was a cringe rebrand entirely because of the narcissistic “this is mine now I scribbled my name on it” antics of its new owner.
Same with fb (not meta) and google (not alphabet).
Facebook is a subsidiary of Meta. Google is a subsidiary of Alphabet. Twitter had an edgy X logo slapped on top of the peeling paint. TheyAreNotTheSame.meme
I’m surprised EM hasn’t blocked posts that mention other replacements.
he tried throttling links posted of them and people with them in their bios iirc
I did not tweet for years but I deleted and went to Firefish, it’s a much nicer design than Mastodon and I can just read Mastodon from it. Love the fediverse!
I found their website and it looks neat but I really wish open source projects would stop naming their stuff things that make them impossible to search.
Oh yeah you do have a point. Ok. Well I very much enjoy it, Mastodon looks primitive when compared to Firefish.
I probably don’t want to know what post.news is, do I?

Was this for Twitter alternatives? Because I feel like you’d see more mentions of Lemmy than Nostr
Not to say anything bad about Mastadon, I can’t say I’ve been there a whole lot.
But seeing the amount of twitter users going there kinda makes me not wanna go there. Gives me the impression that’s where Xwitter 2.0 is gonna happen.
My guy its federated. Mastodon is a protocol basically(from my understanding). Its like saying usb is gonna turn evil.
But wasn’t lemmy grad also federated and just got the boot for a whole mess about the middle easy situation?
I still don’t know too much about the processes and what’s not, so thanks for the info. Anything is more than I know now lol
Lemmy grad isn’t the platform lemmy it was a single instance. The other person was tryna say that mastodon is a platform like lemmy so while yes there’ll be instances like lemmy grad because mastodon is the platform and not the instance your instance can “block” or defederate the other one.
