Apple’s iPhone loses top spot in China to Huawei: Analysts::Huawei overtook Apple’s iPhone in the leading spot for smartphone market share in China.
It’s more surprising that Apple ever held the top spot in China. There’s like what… 50-100 million people with the disposable income to justify an iPhone, and probably 500+ million people who would go with a local manufacturer?
The middle class in China is larger than the middle class in the US. The number of poor is also larger. But it is no longer a nation of poor people.
What constitutes the middle class in China? How comparable is it to the US?
Yeah if we’re using the offical federal definitions, the US’s definition of poverty is laughably lower than it should be
For reference, in the US in 2023, if you are a family of two and your combined annual income is $19,800.00 you are considered to be above the poverty line. This figure represents income BEFORE taxes are taken out.
iPhone is a status symbol everywhere you go. Many I see rather using old af ip7-8 instead if using a new midrange one.
