Oh I see, oct 7th. it appeared as only a trial when I looked. But I think you are correct, better to not rush and experience the story right. Me wanting to jump in right away was mostly a budget thing. But I’ll wait and give control a shot instead.

Coelacanth coming through with the good info, as usual! dude you are becoming one of my fav users in lemmy.
Humm…interesting, so, the answer is more complex than I expected haha. I’m not against going through the previous games at all, I asked bacause I thought AW2 was going to be in Ps+ but, I’m seeing I was mislead >:/ however, Control is, and I also heard is very good, so hum, maybe I’ll pivot and try that first.
What need is to play and actually finish something that’s not a soulslike or adjacent this year, I’m thinking maybe the time constraint of it being on a subscription will certainly help me not abandon the playthrough? ( But there’s also Demons Souls and Tymesia on Ps+ Damn it!!! ) we’ll see how this goes. Thanks a lot!

I’m doing the same with HK, feels correct to finish before silksong.

Not currently playing but considering Alan Wake 2, can someone elucidate me, does it stand on its own?

Yes, I’m playing it on ps+ right now. If you have access to that, I’d say go for it!

Nearing the end of Lies of P… It exceeded my expectations and I’m very satisfied :D I’m even considering buying a DLC for a game I’m just “renting out!” Aaaaaahh I’m hooked, I need more!

90% or so of HK is fine, and it’s the remaining 10% that’s a true ball buster.
That makes sense. I do like my trophies and good endings so I’ll give it a solid try. But yeah, not everything is for everyone, I’m no stranger to enjoying a game I know I’ll never play watching someone else go through it; all fine and dandy in my book.

I’ve been holding off on Lies of P for like a year but this is it! I’ll have to clear my schedule a bit to dive in properly, so juuust a little longer…

The great thing about being a patient gamer, (hopefully)there’ll be just a short wait for me!

For what it’s worth, I haven’t found anything in it super difficult and I’m by no means “a good gamer”, the “souls”* recovery mechanic is not bad; but if platforming is not for you I guess that’s enough to stay away from it,… (I also haven’t found it terrible, and I’m prone to mistakes , ha.)
I’m not sure how far along I’m in it, so perhaps I haven’t reached the turbo hard stuff yet? maybe it gets insane later… I went blind and know nothing apart from what I’ve seen. So far it’s been an excellent experience, the game checks all the boxes for me.
*there is a different mechanic in the game tied to the term soul but I’m refering to the corpse thing here

Been playing a bit of Hollow Knight again. The world is so incredibly vast and beautiful. Got to the distant village and found one of the dreamers, Herrah.

You have good taste… This live version of the bloodborne theme gives me chills.

Just comented this in another thread, but Amon Tobin’s soundtrack for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory goes fucking hard.

And to clarify, self promo is ok! My complaint is about the ones who wouldn’t even see this post (or any other post for the matter), much less reply to it. They just take up space and do not give anything of value back. Imo. As the fediverse grows it’s bound to happen, it just pisses me off.
Not inflammatory, but I’ve noticed some new users who come only to do self promotion, without engaging in anyting else in the platform. Mostly in art related comms but also a couple trying to promote a shady website or the like. Even though my account is new I’ve been browsing for a good while and dislike people that are only looking for an audience not a community.
Big reason why I opened a lemmy account was to stop bothering people arround me with gaming stuff they don’t care about, I can happily yap about games now. Yay!
