OctoPrints what I’m also looking towards. Had a friend deploy it with his Ender 3 Pro, and it was so smooth compared to CC.
I have an Ender 3 V3 Plus. Huge upgrade from my Ender 3 V2, but either print locally or flash custom firmware before connecting it to the internet. The app/website is so locked down I had to publish a private model to my account before printing anything not on Creality Cloud.
Edit to add: flashing custom firmware can be dangerous and brick your printer’s mobo, please exercise caution. I can’t provide any advice, as I have not flashed mine yet, but it’s on my to-do list.
From what I recall, people were upset with the release of the Prusa One for a multitude of reasons: moving away from printing their own parts, it’s a bit harder to repair, etc. They’re still really open and mod-able, but kinda? Take everything with a grain of salt though, I haven’t looked into them in like a year.
Edit: edited the wrong comment lmao

We are getting very close. FEX and any Waydroid improvements ValvE upstreams will also help a ton for apps that depend on them. I’ve also had success with setting up suspend-on-sleep on older laptops battery-wise, so you could always try that in the meantime.

I’m already looking into it lol. From this point on, every device I purchase needs to run Linux.
Much better explanation than 03:00-me ^^^
CachyOS is built off Arch, a rolling-release distro. RR distros are notoriously unstable, and by design. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
I encountered this problem myself, and it was very stupid and annoying, but I had reason to re-install anyways. That’s the cost of bleeding-edge packages. If you’re unaware/unprepared for it, best not install anything arch-based. That’s why most servers are Debian-based.

Never mind then lol. Might at least be more optimized like they did with Wine/Proton.

I’m not too familiar with the project, but I thought I heard talk about it being a compat. layer instead of a VM. Idk though, I might be entirely wrong lol.

Iirc, ValvE was working on one for the Steam Frame so all the Android VR games will run natively on SteamOS.
Edit: its called Lepton. Here’s an article i found about it.
I haven’t seen an ad in 3 years, and I haven’t wanted to see one once in that timeframe.
