I’m writing a story about a 21-year-old man dating a 31-year-old woman whose 35-year-old ex-boyfriend was abusive. Her ex brutally tortures, rapes and kills her new boyfriend, and she kills him out of revenge.

But before I write it, I want to know if it’s realistic for a 31-year-old whose ex was abusive to date a 21-year-old.

I dont see why not. He would be young, perhaps naive and inexperienced; in other words, he would seem to be a “safe” choice. Realistically, he too would probably end up being abusive, a disturbing and unfortunate reality that the abused often unwittingly continue the cycle. It’s extremely difficult to recognize and break. This type of story could be very dark and sad.

In the story hes not abusive which is why his death hurts her emotionally.

I mean, the President of France is married to a woman 25 years older than him. A man dating a woman 10 years older does not seem odd at all.

Apparenrly she started ‘dating’ him when he was ‘kind of on the VEEERY young side’ (which is all Im allowed to say here but you can research what I mean)

Its a weird relationship with a weird origin… but they can do waht they want 🤷🏿‍♂️

That’s only 1 1/2 years more than my wife and I. We’ve been together about 18 years and married for 4.
