Protesters stormed a building in the town of Sofiivska Borschahivka on the western outskirts of Kyiv, where at least 14 people - primarily forcibly mobilised men - were reportedly being held hostage by personnel from the 1st Corps of the National Guard "Azov". Among those in the building was a child who was allegedly beaten with a shovel.
A bus arrived at the scene to transport around 12 of the individuals being held, resulting in the protesters attempting to overturn the vehicle. Rapid Operational Response Unit (KORD) personnel dispersed the protests, with reports of gunfire and explosions being heard amid the clashes.
President Office Head Kyrylo Budanov arrived at the scene, stating that he was trying to "figure out what the hell is going on." The event is under investigation by the National Guard.
The Ukrainian National Guard stated that a 14-year-old boy “fell from a tree” onto the territory of an illegal prison.
According to the commander of the National Guard, Alexander Pivnenko, the 14-year-old boy accidentally fell from a tree onto the premises of the facility. The military took him inside the building to protect him from stones being thrown into the courtyard.
As of the afternoon of Nov. 3, there is no verified or official information detailing how Moscow or other pro-Russian forces may have engineered and stoked the clash outside the National Guard facility.
Thanks for clearing that up, Kiev. Kind of a pointless article, no?
