    Absolutely ridiculous. The viability of EVs was displayed long before. Check this article that goes back to 1830. I mean, even in 1910 the Model M had 110 miles of range at 20mph. Not too bad for the time especially in the city. Musk, simply capitalized on existing technologies while marketing (the not quite yet realized) “full self-driving”.

    Edit: taking that back, you were talking about economic viability vs. existing car manufacturers. Fair point

      The economical viability to put evs in the market.

      Clearly ev was viable. Electric engines have always been better, batteries were simply not good enough 20 years ago. Old automotive companies have been lobbying to claim evs weren’t economical viable until very recently. Tesla is the first company that showed otherwise. Nowadays everyone is selling evs
