Not sure why you’re getting down votes because this is the way. If you want something, be open and ask for consent. Just be okay with people saying no, too, and you’re good

I made a spreadsheet where one column would timestamp each row when the task note column was edited. Then another column that just checks time between timestamps to tell me how long was spent on a task. Another column was used for formatting so I could quickly copy/paste everything into the system at the end of the day
I actually did this at my previous job. They wanted me to time track everything I did to the minute so I started adding time spent tracking my time. Boss hated it but couldn’t really do anything to get me to stop
This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen

Schools are often where abused kids are able to build trust with adults and actually talk about their home life. Sure there’s plenty the school should inform the parents of but some things could do serious damage. If they aren’t already, teachers should be getting training on when and how to make that judgement call
Vanilla is key here, I’m one of those people. Tried it with chocolate ice cream once it was not stellar
They only kinda work but more importantly they need mass adoption to actually poison training data. Most people aren’t going to add another step to their posts so probably the only way to mass adopt it is to have platforms automatically poison uploaded images. I wonder if reposts on a platform like that would start to have noticable artifacts in the images like jpeg but different
Only reason I like using windows at my work is the only other choice is Mac, and my work mac is only sorta barely usable for what I need
Yeah it was bad. I really needed that job since I was saving to move to Seattle and most the other jobs paid in rejected potatoes. I was there for a few months after the track by minute stuff happened so not great but I did get out of there
My previous work started cracking down on having us write down what we were up to in the day to the minute. I was doing 5m blocks, got in trouble. I switched to the by the minute bullshit and also logged the time spent logging my time and they were not amused either but couldn’t really do anything about it. That whole job was as much time convincing them I was working as time spent actually working, which meant I ended up not working very much because I felt strangled all the time and I had built a bunch of effective ways to lie to them about my day
Compulsion to exert power over people near you
Haha, in highschool I put sheep.exes into the school labs startup folders as a prank once. A couple days later the tech teacher approached me and was like “nobody’s in trouble but these things are a nightmare and if I have to reimage half the lab to get rid of them it would personally ruin my day”. Somehow all the sheep were gone by the next day
This makes sense, thank you
I’m not familiar with TF2, why would it break other game economies?
As if tech isn’t enough of a hyper specialized mess already now we’re throwing biologists into the mix. “Sorry we need to wait for the registered nurse to fix your machine I’m not authorized to administer meds through the CPU’s IV”
So tired of companies telling me they know what I want more than I do. It’s all over the place in big ways like this and smaller annoyance ways too. My work mac just did a security update and it decided to change my desktop background
Billions of queries becoming way more energy intensive for a feature almost nobody asked for, now the default. What the fuck are we even doing
Whenever people ask why I physically block any camera in my house when I’m not using it, this kind of thing is why
Remember that one time in Batman where they built a mass surveillance program using phones and decided it was so morally objectionable they immediately destroyed it after?
