You could also use Chromecast with SmartTube. Works like a charm. Let me know if you need help with it.

Yes came to recommend the same. Loving it with the missus and sometimes kid.
Great games
Just took over a house last year with smart detectors connected to a homebase, all Li-Ion. Can see the battery percentage in the app. No more December 1st checks for a long time!
We use these in our products at work and I’ve never heard about them failing before the equipment is replaced anyways. They are soldered.
I won’t quote life expectancy (MTBF) but we have many customers with 15-20 year old PLC’s with the original capacitor.
I really want to and at the same time don’t want to know where your name comes from…
I’m thinking koffert straight away
It would be pure guessing, but I’m not so sure iOS preferance necessarily translates to MacOS preferance. Especially with todays prices and interest rates. Again, just me guessing.
I hope Windows keeps making dumb decisions so we can find out though!
It might surprise you to learn that Apple is not dominating the market here, neither in phones or laptops.
When I think about it, I only really know one person with a Macbok and at work, Android is probably 2/3. Source: I’m the IT guy ordering phones for everybody.
We’re quite stupid and easy to influence.
Proof in point: I’ve gone from 0 to 3 Linux machines since joining Lemmy.
Someone send help, please??
Yupp that works well with CCWGTV for now.
Probably a smoother experience than the built in OS too. Hoping for a new Shield with the upcomming Switch so I can leave yet another Google product behind
Yeah it costs, depending on quality of course.
My 14 TB disks are filling up faster than I expected and I am not close to Netflix’s catalogue.
Are you playing directly on your server?
For the first one at least you could solve it by running JF with a Chromecast or similar device.
Feels cleaner than a wireless mouse in the living room too, IMO
That is a perfectly reasonable argument.
Is it because of costly repairs down the line or potentially being spied on you dislike?
Personally I quite enjoy the newer features for safety and usage, but I get wanting stuff that is simpler to wrench on.
Dude…
Norway is incredibly sparsely populated and has an adoption rate of 80%+. We also have stupid cold winters, loads of fucking mountains and require AC in summer.
I’ve driven through Europe twice with no more than 2 minutes of planning in an app.
Your comment makes me think you have no experience with EV’s at all and are spreding false claims.
There are literally two scenarios where an EV is not better than ICE (if purchased new today).
One is for people frequently traveling far beyond the cars range and the other is for people without access to AC charging at all.
And no, I’m not a EV lover/gasoline hater. I ride a motorcycle powered by dinosaur juice too. I just like having 400+ BHP and 700 Nm of torque in a car priced like a Toyota Avensis, and a full tank every single time I leave my driveway with said full tank costing me <$5.
You should want that too unless you belong to one of the two exeption groups above.
Poor wording on my part.
It still functions, but I don’t get push notification when it detects motion or someone rings the bell while I’m out. I will see the recording once I’m on my local network again.
Not exactly what you asked for, but I went with Eufy with local storage. There is a home base so everything is stored here and not in the cloud. Costs a bit more but gives me peace of mind.
Downside is that it won’t work if my internet or power is out, but that happens once a year, max.
For door I’d go with Yale with the hub to lock and unlock remotely.
Don’t know of a combined solution, sadly.
Luckily no, not all do.
We specifically chose a car with normal handles because ice/snow is a bitch with the motorized/flush ones
Yeah I agree, would be nice if the sold packs were as easy to replace as the leased ones are, but I doubt it.
I hope other makers come with a similar solution in the future. Being such a vital part and known to slowly degrade it should be easier to replace.
We agree on every point except Apple products slowing down significantly faster than Android. My personal experience has been the polar oposite.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Hey man, I’m an Android dude for phones. Won’t even consider an iPhone as I dislike locked ecosystems for phones, but this is just not true.
Apple supports their devices way longer than any of the major Android producers do. I can’t remember the last time my phone was supported more than 3-4 years, but my iPad was just rock solid and updated for 6 years. Replaced it because I wanted more RAM for scrolling endlessly on Reddit, but it was brilliant for everything else. My daughter still uses it with no issues today, two tears later.
The missus’ Samsung tablet on the other hand…
What a piece of crap, and it was top of the line just three years ago.
Sure, it was only meant as a way to circumvent ads on the TV
