The Adams family game for the NES.
I never could get past the freezer section, but I never got to try much. It was my cousins’ game and they lived in a different state.

Imagine losing your father in a tragic fashion, only for Hollywood execs to make a marketable facsimile of appearance and voice. If they could store his corpse and make it dance like a marionette they would.
Talk about retraumatizing the poor lady.
Sole IT person for a corporation and was on call 24/7/365.
It was just supposed to be a help desk position.
It was for an MSP that… Well, the whole thing was a nightmare, but I had lost my IT hospitality job due to covid and the place shuttering. I was desperate.
I’ve developed some PTSD like symptoms for when my phone goes off.
Notification, call, whatever. Immediate panic and I have to remember to breathe.
Even trimming every notification I can, it still happens several times throughout the day, and my phone only has audible notifications when I’m at home, most from my wife.
I left that job over a year ago and still I can’t shake it.
I found a script for bypassing captive portals on Linux back in the day…
The full functionality of how it works escapes me at the moment, but essentially it searches the network for a host that possibly already connected through the captive portal and spoofs their MAC address.
This isn’t the one I originally found, but its the same principal and a Kali tool, so it may be considered more secure than the original bash script I copied back in the day:
I had an issue switching away from Pop!, and it may have been a one off, but when I tried to install a different distro, and it wound up screwing up my boot partition to the point the easiest thing was just to run a live distro, pop open parted, and wipe from there before I could install a different distro.
Mostly mentioning it because it was annoying to figure out and remedy - the remedy was annoying because I only had one flash drive so I had to wipe what I wanted to install, and just wasting time regarding that.
Did the prick die, or just get a golden parachute?
That has become the primary use for my flipper, lol.
Tell that to, I dunno, everyone else.
They certainly think so.
I’ve been wary of corporations since I first read Neuromancer.
Kali was built out as a penetration testing distro, though it does contain some diagnostic tools.
Not a bad place to start if you’re used to Debian, but it is a rolling release so it may break unexpectedly, or have new bugs introduced with each update.
A persistent USB with just Debian could have all the same tools installed but have a longer support scope on releases so you don’t have to update daily (bleeding edge) which is nice to reduce read/writes to the flash drive it’s on.
That being said, I keep a Kali live image (persistent) but thats becauae its home - my first introduction to Linux was 5 minutes with Red Hat, but aside from a brief intro in highschool, I really started with Linux in Backtrack, offensive security’s predecessor to Kali.
Yes, I have to learn things the hard way lol.
Maybe they mean they will dual boot between windows and a hypervisor? I’ve never considered if that’s a possibility.
I’m not a violent person. I abhor it honestly.
That being said, actual self defense is always valid.
That’s why I train and carry.
Sadly this.
Any personal matters I may have attended to during work hours were done on a personal device, through a VPN, preferably borrowing some other WiFi signal than one run by any company I work for.
If its even more personal, just drop WiFi I don’t control all together. Either use the phones data plan for 10 minutes, or tether it to a computer and do the same.
Got Shaggy and Daphne, Fred doesn’t look so good with the hairline and all, Velma apparently transitioned, good for him, and Scoob is long dead. Dogs don’t live that long.
Just had to use my wife’s iphone and felt like a moron trying to navigate it.
I don’t know the gestures, the last iOS device I supported still had that center home button.
I keep seeing Pop recommended so hijacking for an issue I ran into switching away from it - I had to completely wipe the drive prior to formatting the drive for whatever Debian based distro I was checking out.
Long story short, it was due to the bootloader for Pop remaining and interfering with the install process. So a full wipe wouldn’t be necessary most likely, just clearing your boot partition should be enough.
If an attacker has physical access then you’re already screwed in most cases.
I refer to mine with much ruder terms, but she often misses deliveries, so yeah.
I run a server on unraid.
Honestly, it works as a way to cut your teeth with a type 1 hypervisor.
Fairly user friendly, and the community seems to offer a lot of support.
That being said, I mainly use it as a file server and a place to host containerized stuff that doesn’t need to bog down a gaming rig.
I got the hardware for free, so other than upgading the CPU to 10 cores (used, 50 dollars, not bad) and paying for electricity, it just churns along doing its thing.
I have to call out Mirror’s Edge, it is a great experience if you have the right mindset.
Trying to play it with an FPS philosophy is not the way.
