Protip: Install Linux because FUCK MICROSOFT!
Never tried Raccoon but I’ve been fond of Connect.
Well that’s dystopian as fuck, ads are a legitimate security threat with the amount of malware, scams, and other shady stuff advertisements online frequent contain.
Edit: Not even a day later there’s a report about Google ads straight up serving malware because of fucking course that happened…
Everyone should care
Use an open source option instead? Open source is a public good.
I love how corporate handouts to already insanely wealthy companies are cool, but paying for shit like healthcare and housing for our own people gets decried as communism or some other silly bullshit.
It would be cheaper in the long run to fund initiatives like that (never mind it would be the Christian thing to do, despite opponents of such things loudly claiming to be Christians). Instead, we prop up corporations that get to privatize profits while the public often pays for their mistakes and losses.

AdBlocking is 100% OK, that part is correct for sure. Ad networks (including Google’s) routinely serve up scams and malware: It is foolish not to use a browser with a fully functional ad blocker at this point (i.e. avoid Chrome, use Firefox with uBlock origin).
As for whether Google approves: Fuck Google! They have been serving up malware and scams in their ads. Their opinion should be irrelevant if you have any interest in protecting yourself, they have repeatedly proven they cannot and should not be trusted.
