ThinkPads once were pretty easy to work on and repair, but then the whole soldering stuff to the system board and removing power bridge batteries happened.
If you look at something like a T430, it has access doors for everything on the bottom in addition to being built like a tank.
Never even heard of this. Basically every school over here (that I know of) uses ViewSonic Smart Boards that run Android, too, although with a nightmare of a launcher on top… They’re probably not even that much cheaper
They should really stop over saturating the market by releasing new models every year with little to no meaningful upgrades.
Even mid-range phones nowadays are good enough to last long after they stop receiving updates, it therefore makes little financial sense (for the average consumer) to buy the newest model every year, not even touching on the environmental impact.
That’s just weird… Part of the reason I listen to podcasts is that I just enjoy people talking about things and AI voices still have this uncanny quality to me
There are android tablets issued to inmates, I doubt that they’re really allowed to use them with external media, though, if they even have non-propriatery ports to begin with.

That would be unfortunate, I always saw the SE as not only the cheapest but also the smallest model but I guess it’s really just a way for them to use up old parts?
