Take a look at Delta chat? I can’t find a fault with it yet…

Is anyone else using Delta chat as an alternative? I can’t fault their idea of basing their chat app on the well established email system.

thanks, that’s comprehensive, I recommend it at least :-)
I agree it is great, but am I the only one running Opensuse MicroOS?

Although as someone else pointed out it is still possibly using crawlers from google and bing in the background. I’m still keen to try out other search engines.
Jaberw0cky@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Google’s dominance on search is declining – for the first time ever!English1143·2 months agoI stopped using Google at the same time I closed my accounts with Facebook, instagram, Reddit and Amazon. Currently I’m using Ecosia which I think is German. I’m dumping all the US companies I can based on all the Trump crap. It is taking time and effort but I should be able to actually close the Google account soon and I replaced windows with Linux on all but one of my PCs.
Mate, Linux is so simple my 70 year old dad can use it, I’m using opensuse (German) right now, but he is on Ubuntu (British) both are solid choices that a monkey could install and use.
I’ve been closing all my US based accounts recently. I was looking for a non US based Password manager service a couple of days ago. I used european-alternatives.eu and looked at a couple of options before settling on “Heylogin” it is so good I thought I had better recommend it to others… oh and I dumped chat GPT for chat.mistral.ai a couple of weeks ago, I recommend giving it a go.

Would you recommend it to others?English1·4 months agoI’m going to suggest the lessor known option, Enpass, I’ve used it for maybe eight years? I paid a one off fee at the time. It’s multi platform, windows, iOS, Linux etc. It has browser plugins, there’s a Flatpak option so it’s handy for my Linux distrohopping. It supports passkeys and one time codes and you can store the data in any cloud you want…
My wishlist is an app which is not linked to a phone number, is multi platform and has a web app. It should be none US and open source. That isn’t too many requirements and yet nothing seems to full fit the bill? Anyway good luck trying to get school parent’s groups to use something other than WhatsApp.
