No, but everyone who has been responding have been really positive. Maybe I’ll take a swing at it

Yeah fair enough. I’m not super familiar with the genre, still learning, but I’ve gotten a ton of good feedback.
Thanks for explaining it. You and the other comment bpiqued my interest. Grateful.
Interesting. I wouldn’t have pictured platformers as having this much exploration. Thanks for taking the time. I’ll have to check it out.
Can anyone explain to someone who doesn’t get it? How can a platformer be this great? I’m obviously not a player who gravitates to platformers, but I’m just curious about all this attention.

Technology@beehaw.org•I love my smart TV (From Mastodon) - Repost
1·2 years agoYou can always get a new Chromecast (we were forced to as the ancient bullet proof one told us to “fuck off, I want to die”). The new one has a remote control and apps, which I always thought were missing from the minimalist Chromecast family of products. So look at us, now we have a shitty roku when all we wanted was a device that I could send things to from my phone. Needed and wanted nothing more, but I got it. My tone is muddled here, so I’ll make it clear that it’s worse than it used to be, and I’m annoyed I was forced to pay to downgrade.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Theo Von Says TikTok Ban Boils Down To Covering Up Palestine ‘Genocide’: ‘They Want To Own It, Dude’
72·2 years agoSpeaking as someone with no social media (big grain of salt), whenever I’ve heard reporting on people seeing the genocide on their phones it was always referencing tiktok. They never said “people watched children be exploded on twitter or Insta”. That could be due to user preference or whatever, but as an outsider, I have the ambient notion that more of this kind of content was coming from tiktok.
More concretely, in a lot of the stuff that came out of the twitter files, it’s clear that the US government does have, what I would classify as, inappropriate contact with american social media companies that can controle narratives. Without saying something with absolute certainty, the statement he’s making sounds pretty reasonable.
Also nothing is just one thing, there’s probably a ton going on.

Technology@beehaw.org•History says tariffs rarely work, but U.S. President Biden’s 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs could defy the trend, researcher says
2·2 years agoYeah maybe the problem is no one is describing what “work” means in this case. The goal is to reduce Chinese market share in the US EV market, protection of US industry ( lets be honest, probably the owners’ income stream). I don’t see that goal failing being likely.

8·2 years agoSee this makes sense to me. In good faith I don’t understand how tariffs couldn’t work. I mean, even if it doesn’t STOP import of Chinese EV’s, the uptake would be so much less than if they were 50% off…right?
History is rife with examples of countries developing their own industries by making imports more expensive.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Chat Apps, Government Ties, and Transparency – Threema
38·2 years agoSignal no longer requires a phone number. You can now create an account. Not sure if that helps your outlook on it, but yeah. It was a fairly recent update that this was rolled out.
Edit: being told we still do need numbers to register. I haven’t gotten a new phone since well before the change was made, so I haven’t actually created an account and gone through the process. It looks like I misinterpreted what was going on when I read the changelog.

Technology@lemmy.world•Report: Microsoft to face antitrust case over TeamsEnglish
17·2 years agoI’ve had to repeatedly switcho “new teams”. The selection isn’t sticky for some reason. It seems like it shouldn’t be that hard to develope a messaging app that does file transfers and meetings but apparently this bloated pile of horseshit proves reason wrong. A second long delay when changing threads? “You’ll use it because corporate says you will…and you’ll LOVE IT”.

Technology@lemmy.world•Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving linked to hundreds of crashes, dozens of deathsEnglish
2111·2 years agoIs linked to excess deaths? Technically it could be saving lives at a population scale. I doubt that’s the case, but it could be. I’ll read the article now and find out.
Edit: it doesn’t seem to say anything regarding “normal” auto related deaths. They’re focusing on the bullshit designation of an unfinished product as “autopilot”,and a (small) subset of specific cases that are particularly aggregious, where there were 5-10 seconds of lead time into an incident. In these cases a person who was paying attention wouldn’t have been in the accident.
Also some clarity edits.
Takin’ it back! ❤️
