I mean, come on people, it’s current year, not past year.

For the record, you are obviously a very negative and angry person. Which Lemmy seems to be a somewhat breeding ground for. I would encourage to spend more time offline.

And then
And then
It’s important to note that while several large tech companies were found not guilty of knowingly benefiting from child labor, their supply chain still benefitted from child labor; it simply couldn’t be proven they had knowledge of what was happening.
Unfortunately, based on your previous response, I do not expect you to respond in a reasonable and mature manner, and have no desire to spend anymore time with someone like yourself. This is where we sort ways. Cheers mate.
Jesus Christ.
Yeah that’s not how this works.
It’s really not, though. Using their “good product“ ends up supporting the bad person. Most people aren’t OK with that.
You made a statement, not I. Either you have evidence that most aren’t OK with that, or you don’t.
Not OP, but your smart phone may not have been assembled with child labor, but some of the components/minerals used in its construction have been tied to child labor in the past.
Most people aren’t OK with that.
What evidence can you provide to support this, or is this simply your opinion?
How does one not feel safe on a digital platform? Even if someone physically threatens you, nothing is going to happen to you. And you can block/mute people you don’t care for.
I still use it. For that which I engage, or who I engage with, it hasn’t changed for me. Almost 100% for metal bands. Tours, album releases. We have a pretty cool metal community going. People I’ve been speaking with for many years now.
Leaving a platform you don’t like, or the reasons you don’t like it, isn’t “common sense”.
Unfortunately, everyone of your quoted feedback is spot on. Lemmy got the worst of reddit’s political echo chamber combined with the “I am so smart” crowd. To make Lemmy barely tolerable, I’ve had to filter far too many words and block far too many communities. Most people aren’t going to jump through hoops to make a platform usable.
As someone who doesn’t use these platforms (except Twitter), why does Pixelfed’s UI look just like Instagram, and why does Bluesky’s UI look just like Twitter? Are they just cut/paste copies?
Jesus tap dancing Christ.
Because Musk bad. Or something.
All kidding aside, if you’re looking for objective, emotionally mature conversation, this platform isn’t the place.
Mom said tomorrow is my turn to post the Bluesky article.

What a bunch of garbage. The left doesn’t need the right, but the right needs the left…for trolling! Twitter is just as bad or good as it’s always been. I use it once or twice a week. But my political views do not dictate every aspect of my life.
Those are rookie numbers. You gotta pump those numbers up.
While scummy indeed, if you need a desktop application to get yourself new wallpapers, my sympathy only goes so far.
Also not at all surprised the top comment speaks of Linux.
Linux, hating Musk, and Star Trek: the Lemmy trifecta.
Remember Trump University? Imagine putting that on your resume.
Cool. Look at that. It’s the daily Bluesky post. Is it my turn tomorrow?
An echo chamber is an echo chamber. Whether natural or artificial. Lemmy is extremely one sided. Dissenting opinions are not tolerated nor welcome (from a political standpoint). Perhaps less so than reddit as Lemmy user base is much smaller.
This is Democracy Manifest.
