Will or funding. Replacement of a system that initially cost 5mil to install and configure in 2009 is gonna cost 2x that at least to replace.

I’m sad that they had to monetize sky the way they did to keep the service up. It’s clearly what they wanted out of journey but couldn’t accomplish the first go. If you like journey, play sky, children of the light
Kinda have mixed feelings about this. Those who are innocent know that they are on the list at the cost of their SSN or national ID. Bit of a mixed blessing there.
Also, a bunch of truly bad actors will be compromised. Maybe that’s good?
Hmm. Dunno how to feel.
Surely. I’d wonder if it is deemed enforceable by a federal judge. I guess it doesn’t matter with this supreme court.
Users paid, and no longer play.
Seems kinda theftish.
IANAL.
Perhaps a class action lawsuit could set that precedent.
Maybe they should have just done a dollar a month subscription that goes along with the game or give that as an option now to keep the server alive.
Even if it’s a couple bucks sure the most faithful adherence of the game would not really mind paying it. The biggest problem for me here is that they’re totally removing the consumer’s agency, their choice.
I agree with what someone else said in this thread that if the support goes away then the server’s code should go open source. By law.
I can’t recommend it enough. it’s a fantastic game . The story is haunting and it’s legitimately difficult to get the good ending.
Super Mario RPG can be wolluped in 20. If you go hard, I bet you can do it in 10.
Pretty fun and rather full of Easter eggs if you want to keep at it.
I believe there’s potential for great benefit for everyone.
I also believe that if my records are used to innovate I should get a cut and get an opportunity to opt in or out. I should have agency. I don’t like that I don’t.
I still believe that this is, on balance, a good thing.
So long as they’re totally de-identified (not linkable to people), this is a good thing. Image a GPT that can diagnose you 10x as accurately as a human and 1000x faster. This can revolutionize medicine.
Generally, data science is evil and so is Google, but this needs to be done.
Dismounting soap box now.
That I am. I’ve been fucking around with it for a couple of hours now and I just can’t figure out why it’s not working. I’m pretty convinced that it’s not me though. I tried using the fluffy app as well but I couldn’t get that to work quite right either. I’m starting to wonder if there isn’t something going on with Android 14 that’s causing the issue but I really don’t know.
Thanks. I joined. I think there might be an issue with the client now, but the link worked.
I followed the prompt for the encryption upgrade and that failed.
Maybe? Edit: removed unintentional redundancy
Not for me or that other person. I dunno dude. I never used matrix before though so perhaps I’m clicking the link wrong or something crazy.
Let me know when the link works
Or they could go with the good old “if you sacrifice privacy for security you will have neither” - Benjamin Franklin
Certainly not foxit PDF. I just had GPT analyze their privacy policy and it’s nothing short of a nightmare
Wait, Trump was the 58th president? I smell an AI article.
