I’m playing Blacktail, it came out last year and went under the radar but it’s really good. It’s based on classic fairy tales before they were disneyfied.
Finally started Fallout 2, I should have played it ages ago but it is kind of a slog at the beginning.
I’m also preparing to hunt Fatalis in MHW.
Piper’s affinity perk is only useful if you get it early on.
My main advice is to try to get everything you can to level up quickly, the loot pool doesn’t really get interesting until level 20 or so, you’ll find nothing but laser pistols and pipe guns before that.
Definitely not.
I’d recommend Bioshock 1 and 2.
It’s really good in a “this has no business being good” kind of way, I really like it.
It’s really good, they got rid of the tediousness that usually comes from survival games by letting pals take care of the repetitive tasks for you.
It also has some really fun and dumb ideas.
I’m not a fan of Control overall, the story is pretty weak and the combat is alright at best.
I really wanted to see more of the building shifting around like it does in the intro and the maze, they had such a cool idea going and then barely used it in favor of a pointless semi-open world design.
I find DOOM 2016 too simple, even the 10 hour run time starts to drag when every single fight is just strafe and shoot.
I still think it’s a great game but Eternal is on a whole other level.
Eternal is a lot faster, once you get used to it the original will feel like a tutorial.
Eternal made it really difficult to go back, everything feels so slow afterwards.
My main problem with the game is that they locked animation cancelling to one of the 5 stances.
This means you are locked into Cal’s flashy spinning attack animations while your opponent decides to do a quick attack that comes out faster than your recovery.
It makes the game feel extremely jank when you take into account that they also gave almost every single enemy those red unlockable attacks AND that the dodge roll is gone in favor of the most useless side step I’ve ever seen.
So, it feels like you are piloting a tank rather than an agile Jedi with inhumane reflexes, something the first game didn’t struggle with at all.
