It’s always the workers that suffer, even when things aren’t going horribly wrong. Corporations don’t care about people, they care about money. Making money, saving money, in that order. Employees are just numbers to them.
At least there are ways to block those ads. Sponsorblock is a godsend as well.

It isn’t so much replacing the CPU as it is replacing the entire motherboard, but it’s still better than what we’ve historically dealt with.
They’re losing money on ARC so I suppose they felt they had enough headroom on their CPU division to make up for it. Might’ve got cocky and not properly tested the new CPUs before pushing them out.
