have you tried digging out your morality centre and posting nothing but propaganda for corporations?

even on a less well-maintained system it’s probably not going to be the kernel having a freakout, the kernel is going to be just fine while something else shits itself (probably graphics drivers on a desktop tbh, my vega 10 loves to vomit onto the screen and pass out)
okay? i’m talking about the world though, so typical for people to just assume america is all that matters lmao
you really ought to be stopping a few more times, i don’t understand how so many people are just completely fine with driving for 3 hours nonstop
pretty sure most trains are powered by either overhead wires or third rails? considering that urban rail systems are always electrified and those have A LOT of trains.
on android you can get Private Lock which locks your phone and disables biometric unlock, when the phone is shaken hard enough
unrelated to the OP but a suggestion for your problem:
Waveup has a setting to lock the screen after X seconds with the proximity sensor covered, it’s not very sophisticated and thus it can be a bit over-eager, but if the phone being interacted with by your leg while in the pocket is driving you up the wall then this should fix that.
i can assure you japan isn’t that much saner than the rest of us, like really the one big thing they have going for them is pretty good urban planning and public transport.
Where most nations have people working their asses off because they need money to buy food, japan made the innovation of having people work themselves to death mostly out of social obligation instead! Much more exciting.
this is effectively the hardware equivalent of having a public API, sure you could technically reverse engineer your own server implementation, but really you’re going to use it to make stuff that interacts with the existing server.
Most CEOs could be automated with a random number generator that runs on a combustion engine fueled by burning dollar bills.
it’s like how techbros constantly want to reinvent transportation, if they assign an AI to give them an answer it would just say “build more railways and trains” and they’d throw it out a window in anger
this is how i feel about basically all technology nowadays, it’s all so artificially limited by capitalism.
nothing fucking progresses unless someone figures out a way to monetize it or an autistic furry decides to revolutionize things in a weekend because they were bored and inventing god was almost stimulating enough
as much as you can use windows without touching the command line, so long as you don’t fuck about with stuff or want to do anything particularly fancy you have no reason to touch the terminal, but if you break stuff then just like with windows you’ll want to use the terminal to fix things because otherwise you’ll be spending 5 hours clicking your fingers off in a graphical problem solver.
3.5 surely?
it annoys me to no end how motorcycles and mopeds are viewed as dangerous, when every single time you hear about people being hurt on them it’s because they’re fucking idiots who tried to do a backflip infront of a semitruck
sure but that applies to everything, if you want to be safe then the only time you should ever be on a road is inside a bus.
motorcycles should 100% be in the zone of practicality, especially with modern sleek electric ones.
skateboards should be the bridge between practical and recreational, provided you have sensible infrastructure and short distances they have distinct benefits.
skis and sleds just need snow to make sense
we sort of can, it’s called eating a better diet.
stop feeding the bacteria tons of sugar, start eating more chewy things that effectively brush your teeth as you eat them, and maybe even start chewing stuff like stalks of grass or twigs, that’s how a lot of people keep their teeth clean even today.
