I tried to read up on it, i understand it in theory, but in practical terms I don’t get what’s the difference to just working with layers…
I guess I might have to play around a bit with it to get it? I dunno…

It is destructive in what sense? I’ve been using gimp to do various edits non professionally for many years and I am feeling comfortable with many advanced things, but now I am curious about maybe trying Krita or something.
I thought using layers and so on in gimp was also considered non destructive… Maybe I am missing out on something.
I have also used photoshop in like 20 years ago, can’t remember much.
Happy to be corrected, but as I have understood it in the past, all of them.
Shoe on head.
You mean w.i.r.
Have you met any such person?
I have interacted with triple digits number of developers and I have met exactly zero folk with such a need. If there is an actual need by a team member, sure, we will be accommodating.
Until then, however, the much more common thing is for people to have their own preferences for tab width and ignore the current code style, ending up in an identation abomination that sucks for everyone. Therefore, no thanks, forced width for everyone, using spaces.
No point ruining the happy path scenario for a theoretical person with such a disability. If there will be an actual need, sure, let’s convert to tabs only then.
They very well know what they are doing. Take your filthy tabs and get out of here. Spaces only.
I mean it’s not clickbait, thought, it’s exactly what’s happening, isn’t it? And it is rage inducing.
Huh, what is the issue? Been working fine for me for years.
This is actually a pretty cool idea.
I think you gotta keep it mind that, like reddit, a majority of the people here should be assumed to be teens or so.
So if you release a movie that took you 5 years to make, you only get paid on the day it is released. Not the next day, because you should not get paid for doing nothing due to work you did in the past. Keep working. Gotcha.
OK a lot of them I can get behind, but wtf is the deal with tar at 262 pages or so.
I guess you could argue that a simple http client is not a browser, so these would be excluded. But if you write code yourself to use an http client to make a browser, then you would have to implement Frances’s bullshit to be legal in France.
But that depends on how you legally distinguish between a simple http client and a browser…
So things like curl or lynx would be illegal eh? Good luck enforcing those.
One of the greatest experiences for sure. It’s more like a book or a visual novel, though, rather than a game, I would say.
On second thought, maybe it’s the way I work with layers as well. I tend to keep duplicates of the base image as layers to work with effects and mask them so that I have flexibility with applying them and editing them as needed. Perhaps the benefit of non-desteuctive editing is the same thing as I end up with, but more automated…?
