  • So basically you can’t handle the idea that there are people who don’t think voting is going to make a difference? Even when i say to do it if you want to? I’m not telling people not to vote. I’m just saying my opinion on it. And then on the guns thing you say basically exactly what I said verbatim but then act like your version is the more reasonable and mine is somehow “violent” in a way yours isn’t. Like what do you think “protecting yourself” in a worst case scenario would look like? It would look like a civil war. Do you have some fantasy that you’d somehow just be going it alone like rambo and wouldn’t need to pick a side? What exactly do you take issue with in regards to guns that I was saying?

  • With the elections coming up theres a lot of posts saying vote. I don’t think that will do much but if you want to vote do it. But you damn well better do 1 more thing too. BUY A GUN! The 2nd amendment exists. If you are in the US and you are a leftist I want you to be ARMED! Locked and Loaded! Legally! Go to the range and practice. Go skeet shooting.

Comment unrelated to the post. Just sayin.

Edit: For all the people acting like buying a gun is somehow crazy or whatever: I 100% Guarantee that the neo-nazis have guns. The MAGA people have guns. Do you really like the idea of them having plenty of them and your team not having any?

  • Okay, I agree 30MB isn’t a big deal, but that’s not really an argument not to optimize. The entire Debian Stable mirror for example has like 70,000 packages in it. Let’s say all of those packages took the position that “A few extra MB doesn’t matter.” If each one had just 1 extra MB that is 70GB of extra bloat. If each one had 2 extra MB that is 140GB of extra bloat. If each one had 30MB of extra bloat that is 2.1TB of extra bloat. Now obviously thats a very unrealistic, and extreme, example, but the point is that with a super complex operating system things add up. We should appreciate the nit picky little dudes who yell over 30MB because they’re probably responsible in part for a good bit of cumulative extra disk space for the rest of us.

  • Zero. The US literally does not have the military capability to successfully invade Brazil. Brazil is no Superpower, but it is perfectly capable of defending itself, and it would turn into a total quagmire for the US. With its stockpiles depleted from the Iran war already it would be extremely ill advised for them to attack Brazil. Brazil has 375,000 Active Duty personnel, and spent $23.9 billion on its military in 2025.

They also have Gripen fighters. The Gripen is perhaps the best fighter in the world for the type of war this would be. It outflies an F-35, can land and take off from basically anything, is low maintenence compared to most modern fighters, and it’s not an exaggeration to say the F-35 would get its ass handed to it. Iran has shown it’s stealth is not good enough, and a Gripen is so much faster than an F-35 that once it sees the thing the F-35 is basically fucked.

As for a Navy they’re majorly focused on coastal, and river capabilities. Which when defending a country like Brazil is great.

That’s not even taking into account the diplomatic fallout globally. Brazil is not Venezuela. If the United States was to invade Brazil it would be the most significant geopolitical event since the end of WW2. Brazil is the 10th largest economy on the planet. China, Russia, the EU. All of them would feel the impact. And they’d all be furious.

Then there’s Mexico. If the US Invades Brazil Mexico knows it is on the list too. So it would not just sit idle. It would likely launch an economic warfare campaign against the US. And it’s the US’s biggest trading partner so that would be devestating. This would hurt Mexico too, but it would be existential for them at that point.

If you think Vietnam was bad invading Brazil would be that x20.

  • Not the person you asked but yes actually. I never want more screen on my phone. I barely use it. I have the Pixel because it can run Graphene OS, and I want that, but if I could run Graphene on it I’d want something smaller. It’s so annoying to carry the thing around. I use my phone to test and call people. And to use organic maps and gps to tell me when my next turn is. Basically nothing else. Altho if people want to use their phone as their everything device then they’re free to I guess. Just not for me. So I’d never want a folding one.
