They can still sanction your country and then you can’t get updates anymore over official ways, like Fedora and Iran.
It’s just peace of mind to not deal with anything US Based right now

I don’t want it at all.
But thanks for the Head Up that you can make this ugly thing go away
Babbel?
Also there is a leaderboard for Anki which adds Gamification, with Leagues and stuff
I think I will go for OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. But Kubuntu is also nice to keep in mind
Well, their “customisation” of Gnome with that ugly bar on the left side is still ugly as hell.
And GCHQ isn’t also really trustworthy, with them being part of 5 Eyes
I’ve wanted to switch to OpenSUSE for quite some time now from Fedora for the same reason. Should really do it now
I don’t see any advantage for me. Just things that make my 08/15 usage more complicated
Just do Snapshots? In OpenSuse Tumbleweed this happens out of the box every time you update packages. And you can just select the last one from the boot menu then.
It’s hardly an advantage of atomic Distros
That’s why I only buy Deuter Backpacks. Look hideous, are expensive, but don’t fuck up my back and are practical and 100% reliable
Isn’t Frisko just a brand of Unilever that exists throughout Europe with a different name in each country and tastes like Garbage
Most 08/15 users don’t know that an alternative theme exists. They just see the crappy drop down UI and switch right back.
At least a selection prompt on the first start would be a good idea, instead of burying it in some Menus
I guess most people don’t know that. On paper they’re EU based.
They don’t shoot themselves in the foot like LibreOffice and ship the Ribbon theme by default.
The default LibreOffice theme sucks if you grew up with MS Office 2007+.
Also it’s more easy to get support for it. For LibreOffice you either have to know a vendor offering customisation and support, or have to search for it actively on the Website and then choose one of the 3 vendors going to their Website etc…
In the meantime you’ve already purchased an OnlyOffice license for your company with cloud services
Just idiots in that thread.
Lemmygrad is not the biggest instance, and no it’s not complicated.
Just a bunch of people who are afraid of trying something new and want to circlejerk about why they’re smarter staying
In the letter sent to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the companies - including Pfizer, Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca - said they face cost disadvantages in Europe versus the US,
Oh yeah, famous european Pharmacy Companies like Eli Lilly and Pfizer. And AstraZeneca is British
For a decade “the innovative industry has entirely reimbursed the increase in expenses linked to innovative medicines,” the letter said, according to Les Echos.
What are they talking about? Those new drugs are crazy expensive and profitable
The industry also said in the letter that it takes issue with a fee the sector will soon need to pay to treat wastewater from micropollutants, Les Echos said.
I don’t know anything about this fee, does somebody have more background about this. Is it just for the companies who pollute the water or for everyone.
The last comment from Macron about underinvestment is also funny. Like every Neoliberal/Conservative he cuts research budgets and then complains about the consequences.
Fuck him
That’s wrong. It’s just the desktop GUI Apps that are proprietary.
The normal docker-ce package in your distro is still open source

We already have viable European Alternatives for all these 3
They had to go back, because Microsoft moved it’s German Headquarters to Munich (and thus paying corporate taxes there)in a backroom deal with the Mayor
It’s UK based
