22·1 month agoNot me, but over the weekend a buddy of mine asked me which Zelda is best to play all the way through. He’s never played a Zelda game before. So he’s emulating Ocarina of Time on Steam Deck and I’m following his progress through it.
He’s committed himself to not looking anything up, though he’s allowing himself to ask me for hints which I’m gladly giving. I feel like the Nintendo Power Line guy.
He keeps me updated with these little gems every now and then like “this owl is really annoying” and “fuck Mido, all my homies hate Mido” which I’m really appreciating.

1·2 months agoMy main iron and stone deposits were too far from each other to be practical so I had to set up a whole new concrete plant a ways away. Then a train line to bring the concrete in. Then I had to take care of some biters in the vicinity to make room for the concrete plant. And there went my evening.

5·2 months ago4 is a fan favorite but has a grid instead of hexes, so it plays a bit different. I’m also partial to 3 since that’s where I started. Each era has its own lovable jank.
Bear in mind that districts weren’t a thing until 6, so that pretty radically changes how you plan and build cities.

2·5 months agoIt was a little annoying at first, but now it feels very natural. Night is cold and dangerous and you get tired, so you sleep. You get hungry and food is found everywhere, so you eat. Wear warm clothes and don’t spend too much time in the cold without protection.
It kinda makes me realize that I’ve been looking for this exact thing in open world games, now I’m trying to think up some rulesets for BOTW/TOTK and RDR2 to make them similar. Maybe a survival mod exists for Red Dead?

Still relatively new to the game (started playing it in the last couple of years) and I’m trying my first run on survival mode, currently loving it!

Because there is an actual user base for niche interests. Lemmy is great but doesn’t have nearly enough users to support communities for a lot of topics.
In fact you don’t even have to get too niche to find that a topic is non-existent on lemmy. Sports for example.
