Do you use any Firefox or chromium web browser, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, or WASM because I’m 90% most of the development for all of that comes from Ad companies or companies funded by ads.

Right it begs the question.
Is me not receiving care or having access to care REALLY better for me?
If the answer can’t clearly be yes, then they are just choosing to make me ill or kill me for their perceived interests.
Fuckyoupayme is more about setting a bar for what people can ask of you. If someone suggests something and you think “heck yeah I’d personally want that” its not really an issue.
ZeroTier looks super cool!
I mean I’m desperate for them to get a cash influx too, just not really sure how this does that. Maybe set up for another preferred default deal like they have with Google? Maybe privacy focused option as SaaS offering like they do with their VPN, but you ahead of the curve instead after VPNs became so common you trip over them.
Maybe they can offer a LLM router and privacy proxy service like they do with VPNs?
Not who you asked speculating.
I, a systems guy, have a better time learning go than nix packages.
The lang is just rough for me for some reason. I use it as glorified pigs.txt atm instead of my single source of truth for my system.
Why not just PWA to side bar extension support? If users want that side bar to a chatbot. Boom easy. If they don’t or any other option its there too.
If they really want to support local ai specifically focus on the web3 API stuff for it.
Just be a web browser dammit lol
Maybe optional opt out? Like to say you are usb-4 you have to have this format and support all of these features. Other you are USB 4 W/O x,y,z,PD,Video, etc. I also think PD levels should be labeled on power sources and sinks.
“Power-only” meaning no data BEYOND the PD devices themselves because its actually a data protocol to negotiate the power output to the device.
I feel like this calls for the importance of not just inundation but actual education for kids.
We basically let a whole generation have the relationship with the most common and arguably valuable be defined by advertising companies.
I did that for work. Could have my phone but we could read so I just printed out c or python and tried to make sense of what I was reading
Right. I feel like maybe Free Desktop standard, tight integration with top toolkits (qt, gtk, etc) and a some image recognition for fall back.
Honestly maybe we need something like a portable guided tour format (you the “see what’s new in …” things but from strangers for specific thing).
I will say part of problem is knowledgeable volunteers will almost always want to just cp and paste a command string over the docs needed to walk someone through doing it in the current version of GUI.
I’ve done both. Repeatable user instructions for GUIs IS NOT FUN. Maybe if we can get some automation to turn vague directions into detailed ones and better yet testable (supporting something like OpenQA) it might help lower the burden for a project to do so.
“Do not let has been burden what could be.” /s
I agree though, other common UX replication options would help user meet the OS where they are more. I also agree that most common system administration and user UX should be doable in a full GUI, they are just so nice for when you don’t know what you are wanting but will once you see it.
I also think VUI (voice user interfaces) would bridge the gap for a lot people and NLP would cover most of the worlds population.
Honestly people keep working on and it ebs and flows in progress. Its just a lot fing work to do it well. One day we will get to doing most functions with multimodal interface support (GUI/CLI/API/VUI/NLP/BCI?).
Makes me wonder if other human senses would be necessary for that tbh. Like if the train crossing has no lights, the horn and vibration of the train would be needed to replicate how people don’t drive into trains.
Privacy is a foundational right. Without it inviduals suffer from the imbalanced power dynamic of the states resources.
It depends on the purpose of the model I suppose
I don’t disagree that there is a ton of development from volunteers and non profit (ngos, Universitys and governments) but the majority seems to be from big tech at the moment.
Just saying they are contributing a lot and in those ways the Internet is better for it.
