What makes this app unique is that it doesn’t rely on messaging servers to function.
Okay, well, that sounds like a drawback to me?

Add it to the pile of reasons not to use Telegram.
It’s not a “feedback loop”. “Her” was not pulled out of thin air, it was based on AI models that already existed and extrapolated into a future. A future we’re still a long way from.
some says something factually wrong
Never Happened
gets corrected
Also never happenened
then the argument of “you just try to dunk on my for fake internet points” come up… sigh
People will stop saying it when it stops being true.
You didn’t list a single reason why you CAN’T hook up any PC with Linux and create a “console”.
Once again with the strawman. Scroll up and read again. I know this is the conversation you may have been having in your head that you were “winning”, but it’s not the one that is taking place here. I’ll go ahead and ignore the rest of your comment since it’s predicated on a statement no one made.
The point is you can’t just slap any old Linux distro on any old laptop and Bob’s Your Uncle, it’s a Steam Deck, as was casually stated in the comment I initially replied to. There’s a lot more work involved, and even then you lack much of the hardware that makes the SD special.
Not really a lie but pretty close. Especially considering how easy they made it for IG users to “sign up”.
But in all seriousness, you’re completly wrong here…But everything that makes out the steamdeck is definetely not exclusive to its hardware.
Yes, I would be wrong, had that been what I said, but it isn’t. In fact I very clearly listed several software requirements that you’re just intentionally ignoring in a poor attempt to “dunk” on me and score fake internet points.
You 100% can just hook up any PC, be it some minisforum mini pc, a laptop or a off the shelf gaming PC, install literally any linux on it and within a few hours of installing and configuring stuff - you can make your own “steamdeck”.
No you cant. I just listed a dozen reasons why that isn’t true, you argued with one and declared that I was wrong while completely ignoring the rest.
I assume you just don’t have any real-world experience with setting something like this up.
Well you know what happens when you assume. You make an ass of yourself. I have a Steam Deck, and a desktop PC running Bazzite. The sleep function does not work.
The guy who owns the company leading the charge on AI is telling you not to worry about the power that AI uses.
I mean it should go without saying that you should completely ignore this.
The “biggest power” is the unique first-party processor it uses, the touch pads, the Steam Input configuration, Gamescope, sleep/resume function (tied to the processor) and the direct launch into Big Picture mode. Not to mention hardware that’s simply guaranteed to work with Linux/Steam. All things installing any old Linux distro won’t suddenly provide you.
None of that happened.
I’m just tired of people constantly spreading disinformation about turning their laptops into Steam Decks by simply installing Linux, and failing to understand or acknowledge literally any of the major differences.
I didn’t ask for anything…
That is not correct.
LOL that’s a lot of ifs…
And you left out the part about launching into big picture mode.
WAIT I CAN JUST INSTALL LINUX ON THE LAPTOP AND IT TRANSFORMS INTO A STEAM DECK!?
I mean I absolutely want it but also understand your apprehension.
I mean imagine every person having a personal assistant in their pocket who can draft emails on your behalf based on other emails in your inbox, remind you of things without actually creating a reminder, fill out forms for you, answer texts for you, write software for you, create automations for you, etc. etc. I mean the possibilities are endless for increased productivity.
On the other hand, in order to do those things, they have to have access to just about everything, which is scary to me, personally. But I think the vast majority have made it clear they don’t give a single shit about privacy.
This is so fucking stupid. All Gemini (and every other LLM) does is find info on the internet and regurgitate it back to you. The LLM part just does it’s best to narrow it down to the specific answer you’re looking for much more quickly and summarize it. It has no way to disseminate fact from fiction.
Same goes for the Google search engine. Does it suck? Yes. Is it worse than it used to be? Yes. Is that Google’s fault? Not necessarily, it’s moreso the rise of AI just uploading mountains of bullshit to the internet. Every other search engine has the same problems.
Although I am in no way advocating for the use of Google search…
I hate to tell you this but, they don’t care. If they haven’t implemented an easy way for you to request deletion, it’s because they don’t want you to have it.
There’s a WiFi 7 remake coming out next year!
a daily check is enough for most
Yeah I have to strongly disagree.
And then the opsec angle comes into play:
Which is why Proton’s notifications have been encrypted for years.
Sounds typical. Pretend to care while gov is standing on their necks. Forget about it as soon as they turn around.
Did you have a question or…?
