The EU won’t push for adoption of the euro when it would hurt the economy though. Yes Canada would lose autonomy over their fiscal policy but only once they agree it would be a win-win in the economic sense. I know there are a lot of situations in which not having that fiscal autonomy sucks (for example when inflation in your country is very different from the overall eu avarage) so I can’t say if it would be worth it or not, I am no economist but it’d never be implemented at all costs or rushed because of some agenda.

It’s stupid now but isreal wasn’t always like this
And it seems rather happy about what it has become
There are people happy about what it is becoming*
The EU is not a finished project :)
There are a lot of in demand jobs, from nurse to developer if you don’t mind working in those specific fields you can skip a lot of those steps.
I agree, we need a new name
Yikes, i’d rather have north-korea join us then the current isreal state. But when Netanyahu is in jail and Palestinians and Israeli can see eye to eye again it would culturally fit in the union of western nation states. But probably US wants to join and it becomes a group of countries trying to take over the world and we already had enough of that in Europe.
100%. We should persuade Canada to join Eurovision. They have some great artists and both English and French are easier to get votes with lol.
Well they wanted to leave, and maybe the rest of the commonwealth and the EU want something different.

If Canada joins EU that would make it the union less a European union, not saying I would mind that but we’re gonna need a better name. Maybe invite Australia & New Zealand as well. Need to be quick though, before UK snatches them up.
Hear me out, wild plan: why not free the russians & add that as well.

Laptop, phones, and smart devices (i.e. smart TVs) went up.
Interesting for sure, desktop going down doesnt surprise me much but hadn’t expected tablet use to go down as well.

You have also a lot of creative professionals who have a computer. But a lot (might by now be >50%) don’t have a laptop. Also in college more and more people only use a tablet. I feel also a growing number of not young people are switching to a tablet or have a laptop laying around somewhere for that one time you need it.

Just over one billion active devices use Windows for their operating system, according to Microsoft. That sounds like an impressive statistic, but the company isn’t as quick to point out that three years ago, the figure stood at 1.4 billion, meaning 400 million devices are no longer running the OS.
Imagihe you buy an android phone and a Windows PC tomorrow and use your new android everyday but don’t take that pc out of the box, Microsoft still made money and therefor took a share of the market. At the same time, that machine is not going to show up in seo data.
You have a valid point, i’m not saying youre wrong but youre comparing apples (devices used) with oranges (devices sold). But you are right that there is a huge increase in mobile devices used and that surely correlates to the % of divices are running windows. I’m not disagreeing with that.

huppakee@feddit.nlto Buy European@feddit.uk•Windows loses 400 million users as mobile, Linux, and Mac use grows2·1 day agoIt’s a skewed number though, since most people will have a lot of mobile screen time where most gamers and professionals have a more even divide between desktop and mobile - yet most people still own both. You’re point still holds, but hardware companies earn money from the amount of devices sold and not with how many hours is being spent using them.

And an audience too. They’re achieving more than i am, so i shouldn’t be critical of an ally, because i’m on their side - but in a perfect world i rather have them just focus on creating good products instead of shaming exposing their competitors.
