Oh, that makes more sense
Oh, that makes more sense
Hm, 25k karma is not what I’d call a power user, but ok. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, for me too, I still find it interesting
Nope
8 y.o. account, 23k post karma, 64k comment karma. So, not that much. Sadly can’t tell you over how many posts/comments, because the API Tools that used to count that all are dead. Obviously.
For me it’s the lack of interesting communities to browse. Everything active seems to be about, Linux, programming, politics, Star Trek or anime. Some midtier memes. That’s basically a list of subreddits I had blocked on reddit. And it’s all that exists here.
Edit: I just counted. I’m subscribed to 179 communities. In the first 50 posts on my subscribed feed (basically 2 days worth of content), there are 7 communities featured. The first post that does not mention above topics and isn’t a meme is post no 15. In total, there are 4 posts in the first 50 posts that do not mention any of those topics. 2 of those are interesting to me. That’s just not a good enough ratio.
I wonder what’s considered a power user. Because I got one, and I wouldn’t have considered myself one…
Government usually don’t decide what tops the charts tho. That’s sales numbers
I don’t think this these numbers include work at all. Because none of the articles the graphic is based on mention work at all, nor do their sources it seems. And also, the sources talk about “time spent connected to the internet”, so streaming would count, but not TV, which is also a screen. So average real screen time could be even higher.
We had to kill him, he gave the prime minister cooties
Does this method of speech jamming actually work for people? I’ve tried it and it really doesn’t do much. Just concentrate a little. Have you never talked over people before?
Thanks, I’ll try that!
Yeah, I know some of them are really niche, and centered around common experiences, not a piece of IP, which are usually communities that really profit from being in one place. I’ll surely check out solarpunk tho. Thanks!
I’m just gonna list almost all of the subreddits I had faved in the hope someone knows at least something. Though i am not that hopeful. :/

Tbh I’m not super down with lemmy yet. It feel like too much like an r/all experience with very little users. Most of my feed at reddit was very niche communities that either connected me to people like myself or gave me a window in the lives of people totally unlike myself. Here I see some news, redditbashing or meta comments about lemmy and a lot of technology/privacy content that I’m just not interested in. Even if I find niche communities, they have no posts. Maybe this will get better over time, but I’m not sure if I’ll stick around for that long.
If it had been obvious to me, then I wouldn’t have asked the question. Also, this wouldn’t be the first time this happened. Sync Pro used to be a separate app too, but when it was integrated into one app, the purchase could be transferred.
Bummer. Then it really should be worded better I think. Why write 'restore previous purchases in sync", not “restore previous purchases in sync for lemmy”.
Is the restore previous purchases function working for anyone? Which purchases will be honored? I was a sync Pro user
It definitely was to me. I didn’t even really use desktop reddit. I basically stopped using reddit when sync went down. Let’s see where this lemmy thing goes. But everything looking and feeling the same makes the switch easy. The content will hopefully come. Just curating my feed, finding what to sub to etc is just a lot of work. It will probably take ages.
Huh?
