Aren’t those requests made from client devices?
Wouldn’t that bring more solar energy to earth and contribute to energy imbalance?
You have the potential to be a great seller, but found the wrong customer. That keyboard costs more than my phone lol. I’m from the poorer side of the world, unfortunately.
I like the idea of a physical keyboard, but I hate the idea of making my phone even bigger
I use swipe too, but it often gives me the wrong words, and I have to manually type what I want. Also, it only works for dictionary words.
Maybe you’re mixing Wh with kWh. 40Wh is not that much, but it’s still a lot for a single request.
Thanks for the info. I will try upgrading now. To save people a click, here are the instructions:
On Syncthing on the official app, go into the settings and create a backup. Confirm you can see that backup in your files. Now stop the official app entirely using the system app settings for Syncthing (force stop the app basically - we need to ensure it’s not running). Install Syncthing-Fork v1.29.7.1 Now start Syncthing-Fork. In the Syncthing-Fork settings, restore the backup you created earlier. Like magic, everything should be as it was in Syncthing official. Confirm everything looks good. Uninstall the official Syncthing app. Delete the syncthing configuration backup from backups/syncthing. Upgrade to the latest Syncthing-Fork version
Can I move from the older app to the fork while keeping all my configuration?
In a way, the entire lemmy community is the fuckreddit sub
I mean low value as in a low number. Sorry for the confusion.
I find it a surprisingly low value. I can store all the current debian packages in my storage media at home, that’s crazy! FOSS really tends to be lean and efficient.
That’s interesting. I feel like a lone voice in my university, trying to explain to people that using LLMs to do research tasks isn’t a good idea for several reasons, but I’d never imagine that being disabled would put me into a group more likely to think like that. If I had to guess, I’d suggest that there’s possibly a strong network effect being abused in our social environment to make people get into the AI hype, and we, the ones who live less connected to the “standard” social norms, tend to become less vulnerable to it.
Yes, it is. People are personifying llms and having emotional relationships with them, what leads to unpreceded forms of abuse. Searching for shit on google or youtube is a thing, but being told by some entity you have emotional links to do something is much worse.
If you’re not in a position to change your workflow and deal with new stuff, you can simply use windows 10 lts for a longer support and postpone the decision between linux and windows 11.
Personally, I’d recommend trying linux some day. It can drain some free time at first, but in the long run, you will find yourself dealing with much less bullshit than windows, and actually saving time in your life. Some linux users like to make things complicated and pass their time tinkering with the system, so it passes an image of linux being like that, but if you run a simple and stable distro, things will work nicely and will rarely require your time. I’m running fedora for a few years, and my laptop became so boring. I just use it for my work and hobbies, and turn it off when done. No bullshit.
Ferdium - Allows to run multiple online chat/mail accounts in a single interface, without cluttering our browser. It’s an electron-based software that takes a lot of ram, but it’s a nice way to organize stuff and avoid getting overwhelmed.
The ancients were right when saying that less is more!

and doesn’t need to be exactly right
What kind of tasks do you consider that don’t need to be exactly right?
Not really a friendly distro for non tech-savy people, so it’s complicated to recommend it online to strangers.
