That’s interesting, never thought of that as an attack vector.
How would you set that pin on a SIM card in an iPhone?
So they took the SIM card out and got the phone number from that? I guess I didn’t realize you could do that.
I’m confused, in the article he said it was a brick to whoever has his stolen phone. How did they get his phone number to send him text messages? Did they crack the passcode and needed the iCloud password?
Don’t even try and format code with markdown, now you have to make a post with a title.
“cybersecurity entrepreneur with hacker tattoos on both arms“ what’s a hacker tattoo? Your IP address? This article was really short on how he did it.
Actually you can find many videos on YouTube that show how to disable the OnStar transmitter and you can always wrap those internal antennae in foil.
Oh my bad, I was inferring that from the original article. Those articles you posted are good and talk about the CAN attack, but the original article talks about the rolling codes using a flipper zero like device.
It’s near impossible to clone the signal from newer rolling codes, you need to trigger the key fob with out the signal reaching the car and then recorded with the flipper zero, then played back to the car. It takes a lot of coordination using the key fob. Here are some videos of it.
This is really cool that we have gone full circle back to Linux when it comes to VDJ software. I’m not sure if you guys remember Final Scratch which was the first on the scene for digital vinyl control, and required a Linux partition to run and you had to preprocess all your MP3’s before it would play them. They dropped Linux when Scratch Live came out as you didn’t need it for Serato’s software.
The Apple QuickTake camera.
The IDF will fire on their own to keep them from being hostages, it’s called the Hannibal protocol.
Is this guy related to Kevin Mitnick?
I’m not sure about the interoperability between GM cars and OnStar, but almost every other car it can be disabled by removing the three plugs in the OnStar box. Here’s an article on how to do it.
You know you can disable that with some foil. Wrap the On star module in it and it can’t send any signals. That’s assuming you don’t use the OnStar.
I wonder if they are gathering this audio data from their own cable boxes, so the data transmission wouldn’t be noticed, they have remotes with microphones for voice commands.
Oh interesting I didn’t realize they were able to view the driver while your driving.
How does the car know where your looking? Don’t you have your hands on the steering wheel? I have a lane keep assist feature in my car and it has you take the wheel every 15 secs if it hasn’t felt your hand weight on the wheel.
I am running Kubuntu on mine
