Thank you! With xkcd I often think: am I too dumb or is this just not my humour. In this case it’s the latter. So I guess I’m smat after all! S M A T!

Game’s changed. Now we fire people, try to rehire them for less money and if that doesn’t work we demand policy changes and less labour protection to counter the “labour shortage”.

Can you install Firefox?

In Firefox you should be able to install the add-on “uBlock origin”. No additional tweaking of settings required.

With Firefox you can browse the web including pages like YouTube.

I used Ubuntu happily for many years and found nothing that suited me better.

However, with them pushing more and more updates in my face that I can only install if I register an account, I will try to switch to Endeavour on my main system soon.

“Can” as in “It can happen… sometimes.”

Since the recent call for fusion energy from an AI company, I wonder if eventually there will be competition for energy. Will there be a point where it is more “cost efficient” (for some) to farm solar energy instead of food, because AI will be more productive per m² than most people? It could appear easier to control, too.

Maybe you could argue that this is already the case, except that most people don’t feel it yet, because AI isn’t very efficient yet and most resources so far, are only spent in expectation of future results.

They couldn’t because they were in a hurry and like a hundred miles away.

In an attempt to cheer you up: most of us are useless bums, some are just getting paid more, due to lucky circumstances. You are not worth less than the rest of us goofballs.
Also, you have access to the biggest library in human history (internet) and things could be way worse. If this was 1824, I probably would be very happy, if I could live the life I’m living now. :)

I played it. Gun play’s fun. Ran into adifficulty wall. Read in a wiki that I was missing a certain ability. Got that ability. Continued easily until I came to a point where I had to git good. Game felt grindy. Turned on cheats. Flew through the rest of the game and kept thinking: this would have sucked hard without cheats and the story would not have been worth it, for me.
This was however the first shooter I played with a controller instead of mouse and keyboard.

Tldr: had some fun, used cheats, deprived myself of half of the game, no regrets.
