Though it’s not not Linux related, it’s me trying to do my part for this community. Though the default settings are for a Fairphone 6, you can customize it to other phones as well. My hope is that, most phones that can run any form of Mobile Linux, can have a case that they can just make as many times as they want.

Title. I printed a case for a friend, and I ended up wanting to have a similar case, but it didn’t exist for my phone, so I ended up recreating something similar in OpenSCAD, then decided I’d probably be better off making it customizable so that it could fit, theoretically, any (current) candy-bar style phone.

It took me about 4-5 nights to get it mostly as decent as I could make it, I still don’t consider myself an OpenSCAD expert by no means, but when I tried it on my phone, I was pretty satisfied!

Unfortunately, for my phone, I had to make a couple of test prints, and the print shown on video, was putting a tad too much pressure on the corners of the screen, so I ended up having to make a new print. (7 total tests during development)

    I like the industrial look with the rectangular corners instead of over roundes like the phones themselves.

      That’s fine, but round corners are not only an anesthetic choice, but also a structural one. Sharp corners and abrupt changes in geometry in general are bad for stress concentration, impact resistance and honestly also for handling.

      I don’t think it matters here much, and if I’m not mistaken, there is even a slight radius on the corners.
