I’m sure some of the Polybius one was dramatized a little (apart from what was clearly labeled as actors reading the transcripts), but it makes for an unforgettable watch. And the music!!

Just gonna pitch in here, but I’m no expert. I was reading people’s reactions when that TLD was introduced, and they raised concerns over the possibility that a bad actor could spoof an address that actually downloads a .zip file to your device when you click the link, even though you may assume it’s an address to a page. No idea what a hypothetical virus could do from a compressed environment, but thats what I remember reading.

I’ve always been very curious about this technology, but I imagine that they wouldn’t be as good at transmitting high frequencies. I’m no audio engineer so it’s only a hunch of course. Do they sound comparable to a decent pair of buds in the ear?
Oh I agree 100% on your point about using a guide, but I have this weird fixation on beating it as if I had gotten it on release when I was a kid. The only thing I’m allowing myself is a PDF of the manual that came with it, and no save states. I finally played and beat Super Metroid just recently with the same restrictions (on my childhood SNES and a real cartridge!) and it felt very satisfying.
As for my long-term patience, I have a second monitor and countless hours of long-form YouTube content to keep me entertained through the mundane moments.

Metroid II, the original one for Game Boy. I want to play AM2R eventually but I want to properly appreciate the work that went into it. And I’m trying my hardest to do it, so far successfully, without consulting a map.

I haven’t played Foundation, but since you’re looking for laid-back and medieval, there’s a really cozy looking game I want to try called Tiny Glade that apparently has no objectives. It seems to be a pure sandbox game.
Plus, if you like supporting devs who use smaller/less-well-known engines, this one runs on Bevy, a small Rust-based engine!
