I have noticed how a lot of communities I participate in, not just ones I mod, have mostly me and one other person posting ^^; I am always grateful when I see people outside me and the other person, but I always wonder if it seems weird or desperate to say “hey welcome! Nice to see someone else here!” instead of just directly replying to the post.
I always try to be nice to other posters, not sure if that’s cool or creepy 😄
[email protected] has been going great! We’ve over 1000 members which is a great result I never thought we’d get.
Me and the lovely @[email protected] are rejuvenating [email protected] a goth, punk etc community. That’s only just started but hopefully it takes off.
I received a report that hilariouschaos is a neo nazi instance. (@[email protected], you probably received the same report)
Is this true, and if so, were you aware of it? I see a few conservative communities on the instance, but I don’t have a sense of what the vibe is. What are the admins like?
Have a look at this thread, multiple users chiming in: https://lemm.ee/post/60635373
The Fediseer page have feedback from instance admins: https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/hilariouschaos.com
Oh bloody hell
For reference, the shi.itjust.works discussion on defederating exploding-heads is a pretty good read: https://sh.itjust.works/post/564252
After a lot of instances defederated exploding-heads it looks like they shut down and went to nostr, but after a while a contingent returned and set up hilariouschaos. at first they weren’t widely federating with others but then they started federating openly (though several instances defederated them):

- https://gui.fediseer.com/instances/detail/hilariouschaos.com as cited above
Looks like lemmy.world and lemm.ee have not defederated hilariouschaos, though lemmy.world had previously defederated exploding-heads (not sure about lemm.ee).
I dunno, mixed feelings, still processing all of this.
Well done, and good luck with the new community!
Thanks bro 😃
Ty! Hoping so to!
@[email protected] is single handedly carrying [email protected] and I am eternally grateful…
Now I just need someone to do that with all of the other random communities I’ve made
Meanwhile, I’m grateful that someone else is doing the hard work of sustaining and modding communities 🙏
Contributing irregularly is easy - being there a year later is the hard part!
Well done both!
Last week really flew by, jeez.
Instance Growth
crazypeople.online continues to grow at a steady pace. We seem to be attracting a mix of reddit refugees, newer lemmy users, and some alts/established users. We added some additional resources to the server yesterday to keep things running smoothly as more people join and expand our reach.
Community Growth
Activity is up, and we even had a local user spin up a community this week. Great stuff for our little place. Here’s what the numbers say-
-
[email protected] moves into the top spot this week. Now over 220 subscribers, this communitiy has grown by 20+ subscribers yet again. With 4/20 fast approaching I’m hopeful we’ll see a surge in user activity here soon too.
-
[email protected] slides to second place this week. Subscriber growth was in the single digits this week but overall activity is way up as new people have started sharing the music they’re jamming. If you’re looking for a place to share or discover a wide range of music, this is it.
-
[email protected] grew by about 10 subscribers this week. The content here is fairly sporadic as there are just a couple of us posting whenever the mood strikes. There are definitely more people on lemmy with ideas for lazy memes. Don’t be shy!
-
[email protected] also grew by about 10 subscribers this week. The trade posts have been helping players grab the cards they need each week and we’ve been developing some friendly rivalries about silly in game mechanics. @[email protected] (kidding @[email protected]) has been sharing some of the artwork from the TCG for us to get our hopes up about what we might see added in the future, and others have been sharing their pulls and picks too. If you play this game and you aren’t part of our community you’re missing out IMO.
-
[email protected] is nearing 60 subscribers. If you’re into racing you might find some of the posts interesting, but the series and events being posted are somewhat irregular. More content is always welcomed!
Thanks to everyone who’s checking us out and engaging with our communities. Looking forward to what the future holds for our space!
@[email protected], I just noticed you mod [email protected], would it make sense to try to regroup on [email protected] ?
Yes, indeed it would be better to have all the activity on the same page. I’m not sure how such a merge should happen. I guess I can just lock the community and put a pin message asking to use pokemoTCGM instead. Is there a way to migrate the posts from ptcgp to pokemoTCGM?
Posts cannot be moved, but locking and redirecting is usually the way to go. See [email protected] or [email protected] for examples
Nice one ha ha

Happy to say we have had a little activity going on in [email protected], which means a lot of activity in comparison with the previous weeks/months ;)
No idea why this week there were more activity but I certainly will not complain. Maybe this week’s theme in the weekly thread I post has helped out? Can’t tell.
We also gained 12 new members since last week which is great, obviously.
Congrats!
Trying to keep [email protected] active
[email protected] is starting to look like an actual active community with multiple posters!
It’s somewhat slow going at [email protected], guess I need to post more funny stuff.
Average up arrows on my posts at [email protected] have gone from 1-2 to more like 4-5 recently so that seems to suggest a significant increase in eyes / interest over the last month or so :)
Activity on [email protected] has gone down since I haven’t had time to draw and I don’t really want to post requests without contributing myself so it doesn’t just look like a dead community. But there is atleast one post a week!
Will have to get back into it soon.
[email protected]’s weekly thread still gathers nice amount of commenters, so that’s a positive! I feel like people are too shy to ask questions there.
Good to hear!
Still happy to post cool cards to [email protected]
[email protected] still getting regular activity
[email protected] 9 new subscribers since last time, so it is growing slowly. I am still almost the only one posting, but I am patient. Yesterday I posted my second issue of the zine in the form of a post, and it was well received, so I will continue doing that.
pretty much dead, I no longer has symptoms of Schizophrenia and I was the only one posting in that community :)
Glad to hear your symptoms are gone, hope it stays that way :) Thanks for making the community for anyone who needs it
Trying to keep posting to [email protected]
[email protected] just hit 600 subscribers over the weekend. A couple different people posting, which is nice. A modest number of comments and discussions, but it’s a niche topic so not really surprising. I was made a mod for a while but renounced it, mostly bc I didn’t want to take on the commitment. But it did make me consider that if only the mods are posting, newcomers might be reluctant to post. So it’s good to have regular posters who are not mods.
Funny thing, after I clicked to give up mod powers, they returned after I signed in again next time. I think the other mods hadn’t yet realized I gave them up? Anyway, I wrote some goth song lyrics about the feeling of signing in and then seeing that I had been made a mod again:
This dreaded label
is haunting my name
This dreaded label
like a sigil arcaneThis tag! (it burns it burns it burns)
Like a dagger to the eye!
This tag! (it burns it burns it burns)
It corrodes me inside!
(unearthly shrieking)(minimalist guitar solo)
lel that’s a joke btw
Hi, Sergio. Suno.com doesn’t seem to officially have goth yet, so I just took a guess and chose styles: “metal,” “male voice with hoarseness,” “minor chords” and still tried to force “goth.”
See if this song-link works:
https://suno.com/song/401b9ad3-073d-442a-9b1c-c013b104ea89?sh=oANp8cwoCo0dQVIXOh, and I loved how they handled the tag “(unearthly shrieking)” LOL.
Yeah, Suno doesn’t yet have a grasp on “Goth” judging by this song lol.
ha ha, that’s awesome, I remember trying out suno last year and it wasn’t able to correctly end a song. That “unearthly shrieking” is pretty funny.
Now let’s see if they can do songs in Castellano / français, next…
When I was trying it out I put in some Japanese words in hiragana and it handled them OK.
Yōsh!
